Shona Dougall

An honours graduate from Glasgow School of Art, Shona Dougall is a contemporary of Peter Howson, Adrienne Wiszniewski and Ken Currie. She won the Mary Armour still life prize in her final year.

Shona has exhibited widely throughout Scotland – mainly in Edinburgh and Glasgow. She has also shown in London and surrounding areas, and her work features in collections in Sweden and Canada.

Previously working mainly in pastel, she now works principally in acrylic, although oil pastel and mixed media feature highly in her more recent work. Themes include still life, landscape, botanical and animal studies. Local scenes in and around Glasgow are favourite subjects as are Mediterranean scenes from her own experience of travel.

She has a passion for colour whatever the theme and enjoys creating different moods through colour, particularly in landscape, where the different seasons can be interpreted using colour and line to convey mood and atmosphere.
